Why It's on the Top 50: What a comeback! Pepsi Bottling went from the 25 Noteworthy Companies to No. 2 on the Top 50 in one year. How did the company do it? Excellence across the board in all four areas measured, especially CEO Commitment and Corporate Communications.

Description: Pepsi Bottling Group is the world's largest manufacturer, seller and distributor of Pepsi-Cola beverages. Pepsi Bottling group spun off from PepsiCo (No. 10 on The 2007 DiversityInc Top 50 Companies for Diversity list) and was incorporated on Jan. 6, 1999.

From President and CEO Eric Foss: "Diversity is an important component of our business strategy. We know that to ensure PBG's continued success in the marketplace, our company's composition needs to reflect the diverse customers, consumers and communities that we serve."

Diversity Strengths: CEO and President Eric Foss chairs the diversity council (only 52 percent of Top 50 companies do this).The company donates 41 percent of its philanthropic endeavors to multicultural organizations (the Top 50 average is 33 percent). Pepsi Bottling Group has mandatory diversity surveys (only 30 percent of Top 50 companies have this).
