This is a disappointing decision ... however, there is something larger that hovers over our society and government. Until we look at diversity in housing, employment and interaction, regardless of what legislation is on the books, our society will continue to spin in this circle we have perpetuated from the founding of this country. Minorities are making more financially, have excelled in academics and are functioning well in society. The barriers must be removed in order to truly allow integration, which will provide more diversity.

It's so nice [that] the president of the U.S., in his wisdom, has infused the Supreme Court with his hand-picked bigots of such magnitude as to bring back Jim Crow. And, at this point, the only way Bush's actions will ever be suppressed if not reversed is if there is a civil war here in the U.S. There are way too many who coddle and try to "appease" this "republicanazi" administration by not having black people stand up and take charge of a future without bigotry or hatred; a form of financial and educational genocide that is practiced from the White House and from some who are only black by birth, but are more Judas Goats (hello, Ward Connerly) who would help in the genocidal effort to send us back to the bad old days ... we have people who just lay down and feign ignorance over what the bastards Bush, Connerly, et al, have done to equal rights and school integration and now, thanks to the Supreme Court (which as everyone knows is loaded down with those of highly questionable ability and honesty), these forces of evil are succeeding in their efforts. In this writer's opinion, it is time to revenge those who in the past have LOST THEIR LIVES in this country in the fight for equality, and to take up arms against an administration (and society of hatred) which, if they had their way, would certainly start hanging black people from trees again and calling it an "accident." Bush needs to go, as well as his puppet court. Otherwise, future generations will pay for our inaction to this American Hitler's attempt to bring back Jim Crow.

What in the world do you expect when Republicans place people such as Scalia on the bench? He has the intellectual acuity of a gnat. How interesting that this comes about as this nation prepares to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1957 Little Rock decision--the decision rendered by the visiting judge from North Dakota (Ronald N. Davies) who determined that in compliance with Brown v Board of Education, the plan to integrate Little Rock Central High must be allowed to proceed, with less deliberation and more speed. I think I hear Judge Davies rolling over in his grave--with laughter--over a nation that cannot make up its mind whether civil rights apply to its own people, even as it invades and occupies Iraq under the guise of assuring civil liberties for the Iraqi people.  Lo, how the mighty have fallen, as Mildred would say.
