Nonprofit Boards Are Overwhelmingly White

Nonprofits that serve communities of color aren't often run or funded by people of color. Nearly one-third of nonprofit groups that serve mainly Latinos have no Latino board members, and one out of five nonprofits serving primarily black clients have no black trustees. On average, 86 percent of nonprofit board members are white.
