Dear DiversityInc,
I read your article about the firefighters that were given preferential treatment in spite of testing scores and I was wondering if someone could tell me if my rights had been violated when the city government I work for decided to grandfather in the MAST emergency employees that were recently made city employees, not requiring them (over 200 employees) to have to relocate within the city limits because of a split vote by city council that it would save the city money, however, I have to maintain a mortage on a home I can not sell and rent an apartment within the city limits in order to stay employed. I live only 14 miles from work, whereby, I am sure most of them stay in the suburbs much further away. Surely all of their jobs are no more a critical need position and no more important than mine.
