Florida's anti-gay-marriage amendment is losing traction among the state's voters, a new Quinnipiac University poll reveals. According to the poll, 55 percent of voters support the amendment that would define marriage as a "legal union of only one man and one woman." That's down 3 percent from three months ago and is 5 percent less than the 60 percent needed to amend the constitution. The conservative organization Florida4Marriage has led the effort to push the anti-gay amendment, amassing more than $1 million in just 60 days at one point last year. An investigation by The St. Petersburg Times found that prominent members of the GOP have donated to the organizations efforts, including $150,000 from the Florida Republican Party.

Hopefully the people of Florida will see through this discriminating amendment and understand that it is supported only by a deluded group of people who have nothing better to do then interfere in other people's lives. Once these people are allowed to get away with interfering in people's lives, who knows what their next target will be. Do we really want to take that chance?
