Day two of Advertising Week will feature a diversity hearing sponsored by the New York City Committee on Civil Rights, Advertising Age reports. The committee is led by New York City Councilman Larry Seabrook, who in 2006 hosted a similar event on why media outlets owned by people from traditionally underrepresented groups get less advertising money. According to Advertising Age, no one showed up for that event.
"The agencies, Mr. Seabrook said at the time, 'ran like chickens with their asses plucked clean,'" Advertising Age reports.
