A Black Muslim teenager said he was beaten on Election Day by four white men who were angry that Barack Obama had been elected president, according to an article in the New York Daily News.

The 17-year-old teen was walking to his home on Staten Island when the group jumped out of a passing car and started kicking him and beating him with a baseball bat, the Daily News reports. He broke away from his attackers and jumped over a neighbor's fence to hide.

The NYPD Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the incident as a bias crime.
