Even though progress is slow, just as it was for the right for women to vote and Afro-Americans to gain their civil rights. We as gay Americans can still be fired, kicked out of our apartments, kept from seeing our loved ones when they are in the hospital or making final arrangements when they pass on all because we are gay.  It is not a lifesyle, but a way of life for each of us.  We did not ever choose, were born as gay/lesbian. Just like we were born to be right or left handed. 10% of the population is left handed as 10% of the population is gay/lesbian. All we are asking for are the same civil rights as our brothers and sisters who are straight and married already have.  I personally, am not pushing for "marriage", but to have the right to be recognized as partners and to be able to share the same benefits - right to share inhertance/retirement, insurance, and the right for my partner to be able to come to the US and live with me (as my partner is a Canadian ci
tizen).

So we have a LGBT Pride Month? Who's supposed to be proud? I assure you - not me. What does the LGBT community do for pride the other 11 months? This is all so high school it makes me sick. I don't care what anyone's sexual identity is except my own. Heard you, got it, move on....
