As a company, Humana:

  • Continued to prioritize our commitment to cultural competence and awareness for leaders and employees, with approximately 96% of our senior leaders in roles of vice president and above completing cultural competency professional development in 2023.
  • Achieved our highest percentage of BIPOC talent in Director+ roles at 22% and women at 50%. Hiring through requisition for BIPOC talent in Associate Director and Lead roles reached 35%, up 1% from 2022. Hiring through requisition for BIPOC talent for Director+ roles reached 26%, up 2% from 2022.
  • Continued advancing our culture of inclusivity through mentorship with roughly 5,800 employees engaged in individual mentorship, and many others participated in group mentoring programs like Catalyst’s Men Advocating Real Change Dialogue Teams (MDT) and Transformational Leadership for Multicultural Women (TL MCW).
  • Spent $357 million with diverse suppliers, representing 6.5% of our total supplier spend, and continued our Supplier Diversity Mentor-Protégé program.
  • Humana contributed more than $160 million to philanthropic causes, with the Humana Foundation donating more than $5.3 million to create healthy emotional connections for seniors, school-aged kids and veterans through partnerships and initiatives addressing loneliness and suicide prevention. An additional $12.9 million funded 23 grants and 4 Health Equity Innovation Fund projects focused on advancing health equity.
